Meet the Owners
J.Dub’s is now under the ownership and operation of the Brenteson Family: Brad and Carley, alongside their young daughter Maura. Formerly family friends of Jerry, the original owner, Brad and Carley sought his advice when they initially ventured into the metal industry, leading to the establishment of their own company, now known as Split Mountain Metals.
Upon Jerry's retirement, he entrusted J.Dub’s to Brad and Carley, a gesture they felt deeply honored by and gladly accepted. In reverence to Jerry and the legacy of J.Dub’s, they remain dedicated to upholding its values. They take pride in closely collaborating with clients to grasp their vision, ensuring that every project embodies the true essence of their client's aspirations.
Split Mountain Metals
Look Familiar?
In 2017 our sister company - Split Mountain Metals helped design and create the 2017 Capital Christmas Tree Star.
Comprised of 16 steel panels and 16 copper panels, the 5-foot tall, 80-pound star paid homage to Montana's rich mining history and cultural heritage. Adorned with the bitter-root flower on the front, the tree topper was a true representation of Montana's spirit and identity.

History of J.Dub’s
Jerry Wayne Bement, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, led a dynamic life that included service in the U.S. Air Force as an electronics specialist, during which he traveled extensively until the age of 30. Settling in Wyoming later on, Jerry found himself drawn to horseshoeing, where he first learned the fundamentals of forging metal with fire. His journey eventually led him to the rodeo town of Ellensburg, WA.
In 1980, alongside his close friend Billy Maguire, Jerry embarked on a new venture. Using a coal forge and an oxy cutting torch, they crafted J. Dub’s inaugural commission piece: a distinctive weather vane portraying a dog leaping over a crescent moon. This marked the humble beginnings of J. Dub’s Metalworks, laying the foundation for a legacy of craftsmanship and creativity that would endure for decades to come.
